NSU Fort Myers PA students need your help to provide health screening and basic necessities to the underserved area of Immokalee, FL- 100% student organized and funded. Students provide preventative health information, teach CPR and provide screening for vision, diabetes, and hypertension during the event.
Project Seed has been an annual event for over a decade, organized and funded by the PA students of the NSU PA program in Fort Myers. The event provides education about oral hygiene, sexually transmitted infections, cancer screening, domestic violence and others. Students provide medical screenings to identify disease and provide resources for support. Bicycles for transportation, computers and other household items are raffled off to the community members who participate. The event is held at the St. Matthew's House on Main Street. Seed offers the students an opportunity to support the mission of the PA program and profession to treat the underserved and is also an interprofessional event with the NSU Nursing program.
