Welcome to the recently launched NSU Community Garden, made possible by student volunteers and the Facilities Management Team. Our garden was launched with the intent to provide NSU students with an outdoor escape to plant, grow and test out their green thumb with the potential added benefit of delicious and nutritious free food. Our mission is to improve our garden and the overall aesthetics of the green space which surrounds it. With the community’s support we would like to install a pollinator pathway, buy additional tools, seeds, plants, and a bench or two. With full funding, we will install a tool shed with the Nature Club to provide much greater potential for the work we can do here in the garden. The pollinator pathway will have a dual role providing support for both the garden and the 15 bee colonies currently residing on the property. In addition to supporting the garden these beehives have a direct impact on NSU’s Bee Campus USA goals, a program NSU recently joined to raise awareness for our native pollinators. Please come out and support the Community Garden and keep Davie a wonderful place to grow all sorts of edible plants!
