Halmos College of Arts and Sciences

The NSU Halmos College of Arts and Sciences is truly the heart of Nova Southeastern University. We are home to the majority of NSU’s undergraduate students as well as graduate programs in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences. The driving force for our efforts at the NSU Halmos College of Arts and Sciences is to make a positive impact on our community in South Florida – and the world more broadly. From environmental science to political science, programming focuses on issues of impact, both globally and locally.

Our arts programs allow students to express themselves creatively and to find deeper insights into the human experience through music, theater, art, and dance.

Our Center for the Applied Humanities helps students make the connection between history, philosophy, and literature and present-day issues and challenges. Recipients of the Insight Think Tank fellowship assist local businesses and community groups to solve problems by drawing on knowledge from the humanities.

Our STEM programs prepare the next generation of scientists, health professionals, engineers, and mathematicians. Gifts to STEM contribute to student travel funding for academic conferences, providing our STEM students with the ability to present their research and network with scholars in their fields. When you help students present their research through funding for conference travel, you provide a life-changing experience and open doors to research excellence.

Speaking of excellence, Halmos College is proud to be the home of the Farquhar Honors Program, which provides high-achieving, ambitious students with opportunities to explore topics through a transdisciplinary lens and develop leadership skills that prepare them to be change agents in our world.
